Two kitty cat cards

I actually finished both of these just before bed last night, but was too tired to post, so here they are. Both images are freebies, read on to find out more :D

This one is actually even brighter in real life than it looks here, lol, it might be painful on the eyes on a sunny day, but I figure it will be safe enough in this weak wintry light :D The image is a freebie from My Grafico called Hug A Cat, and I think that's a fine idea, so if you have a willing feline participant, give it a hug today :)
I made this one for a few challenges, here goes:
I followed the sketch at the My Grafico blog, and I also tried to use plaid (their other challenge), but first I ended up with a sort of loose weave effect paper, and then when that didn't look right, I went for a chequerboard effect, and somehow managed to completely forget that "plaid" equals a sort of tartan. Ho hum :P I also had to change the sketch slightly, and move one of the vertical strips over to the side, as if I used two thin strips of the weave-effect paper behind the image, it was just very difficult to see (too many busy paper, methinks, but I was having a great deal of fun :P)
The challenge at Incy Wincy Designs this week is to use punches, which I did for my star shapes.
The Dare You To Digi Stamp challenge is also to use punches, and a digital image.

On this second card, the image was a freebie from Motivet, and again I made it with a couple of challenges in mind.
I followed the sketch over at Sketch Saturday
I used the colours at a new blog called For Fun Challenges, run by the lovely Helen. The first challenge is to use the colours Purple Pink and Grey.
And I'm also entering both cards into the Lots To Do challenge, which is titled "Love is in the air" But you are NOT limited to Valentine's cards (phew! :P), the card can be anything representative of love. Well, I'll be sending them to friends with love, but then you never send a card with hate, so you? The real reason these count is the KITTIES. I luuuuuurrrrrrvvvvvve my cats (we have 9, or 8 if you talk to hubby because he hasn't accepted the fact that we've adopted a local stray yet :P) and I based the colouring on these two on two of my own. The long-haired ginger one is Dylan, and the little grey and white one is Loki.

Hope your day is just PURRFECT! (Sorry, couldn't resist :P)

Changed my thingy thank you! Right link but hep-hem, wrong place in the title! I mean...you'd think the owners woulda noticed, that's why they are giving out the freebies to blog about it!! Just proves no one reads the gumph! Now, I'm off to look at some of your above challenges,. I've got 'Helens' card I'd like to put some place else!
