Shawl progress

This is pretty much just for a personal record, because I'm tired of losing the scraps of paper that I keep my notes on. :P

So, I decided to make myself a shawl, if it turns out ok then I'll post the pattern.

Start with 3mm needles
CO 16
Knit 3 rows
Start lace flower stripe pattern:
Odd rows: Purl, and KFB at both ends and twice in the centre.
Even rows: Knit X then *YO, slip 1 knitways, K2T, PSSO, YO, knit 3* Knit X+1, (this brings you to the centre of the shawl) Knit X+1, *pattern repeat* Knit X
And, I've just realised that that won't produce a true mirror image, since I should have done the pattern part backwards as well, starting with Knit 3 and then doing the YO parts. Ho hum, I really should have started this earlier ;)

P= Purl row
Number = pattern row, number is X

P 3 P 1 P 5
P 3 P 1 P 5
P 3 P 1 P 5
P 3 P 1 P 5
P 3 P 1 P 5
P 3 P 1 P 5
P 3 P 1 P 5

I'm waiting now for some long 3.25 needles to arrive, and I'm going to go to a version of seafoam stitch next, I think :)

Ho hum. I want to knit and can't until my new needles arrive. So, I'm going to work out the next pattern bit.

Row 1 - Purl
Row 2 - Knit, with increases
Row 3 - Pattern row *YO, K1, YO2, K1, YO3, K1, YO2, K1, YO Knit 6*
Row 4 - Knit, with increases, but dropping all YOs
Row 5 - Purl
Row 6 - Knit, with increases
Row 7 - Pattern row *YO, K1, YO2, K1, YO3, K1, YO2, K1, YO Knit 6*
Row 8 - Knit, with increases, dropping all YOs

On pattern rows, knit X before starting pattern repeats. X will be rubbishly long repeat sadly, it's 2 9 6 3 10 7 4 11 8 5
Also, I started with 104 stitches total, so 52 in each triangle. To make the ovals mirrored, this is what I did
Knit 6 (X) SFK6 (x4) Knit 6 CENTRE Knit 6, K6SF (x4) Knit 6
Hopefully, sticking in the Purl rows will mean there isn't so much of a background difference between the stockinette in the first pattern and the seafoam stitch.
