Practical Magic blog hop (film for me, but you can use the book)

Some lovely ladies got togther and decided to host a blog party to celebrate the film and/or book Practical Magic, and they created a blog specifically for the party and invited us all to join in. The blog and all the details can be found HERE, along with the list of all participants. Now I have to admit, I hadn't even realised there was a book, but after reading the initial blog post, I thought I'd check out our area's online library catalogue and see if they had it in large print anywhere (I can no longer read normal size print) And, joy of joys, they did have a large print copy, and it was actually on the shelves in one of the local libraries! I can ask for the books to be sent from wherever they are to my local place for me to pick up, but that can sometimes take a while, so, knowing it was available, I scurried off to the library. But, after searching the shelves myself, I asked one of the librarians for help. She confirmed that according to the system, it should be on the shelves, but also noted that it hadn't been checked out or moved since early 2008. So we both checked everywhere possible, and she also did some rummaging around in their storage spaces, but sadly there was no sign of the book. But, all is not lost, I watched the fim instead, which I have of course seen before but not for a while.
So anyway, enough of my rambling, this is the piece I made inspired by the film. And yes, since the official blog party is on the 25th of September, this post might seem early. Unless you're in Kiribati, in which case it's right on time, as they've just started the 25th as I'm typing :P
And of course, I had to use a few challenges as well, lol, challenges are becoming such a large art of the creative process for me. So, here are some challenges that I'm entering as well. A few of these have Autumn as a theme, so for thoose ones, I'm entering because my project uses autumn colours and falling leaves, plus the film on which it's based is set in October)
Create 4 Fun Challenge 38 - sketch
Theme Thursday - Two things (my women, and two different starry papers, and two hearts)
Meljens Designs - autumn colours
Daisy Doodles - just one embellishment
Paper Playtime - Autumn
Creative Card Crew - Autumn or Fall
Crafty Creations - Falling leaves (all over their dresses)
Irish Teddy - Autumn
Paper Sundaes - Autumn/Fall or Halloween colours
Thanks for looking!

GIVEAWAY!
After the party, (on October 2nd) I'll put all the names of the commenters in a cauldron and see which one bubbles to the top first, and that person will get to choose three free items from my shop. To check out the goods, click the magic badge at the top of my sidebar and it will whisk you straight there. Or click HERE

I loved reading about your adventure to get the book. Sorry you guys couldn't find it. :( I read the book and then was excited to see a movie was being made of it. As most readers, I loved the movie, but always think the book is better with details. Great project! I love the way their hair changes from light to dark for the sisters. Thanks for playing in paper with us this week at Paper Playtime! :) Janis

What a great interpretation. I am not familiar with "challenges" so this was an exciting post for me.
I too am beginning to appreciate large print books more and more and ordered the other book (Garden Spells) from our library in large print.

I've just had a bit of a wander around your blog: I particularly like the sentiment about blogging without obligation, who needs their hobby to be another chore?! I went and had a peek at your shop, gonna have to go and buy some of your papers, love them! Hope my name "practically" appears (as if by "magic") in your cauldron so I can get a stamp too :) Donna
